THURGOLAND LOCAL HISTORY GROUP

The programme for Spring 2007 has now been drawn up as follows:

15 MARCH: John Quick, Railway Historian, with a slide show on ‘The Woodhead Line’ (£2.50 admission charge) Village Hall – 7.30 p.m.

19 APRIL: Geoffrey Wordsworth will give a talk on researching his Family Tree, which began at the New Wire Mill, Old Mill Lane. Village Hall – 7.30 p.m.

17 MAY: Pule Hill Visit by kind permission of Mr and Mrs Warttig. Meet at Pule Hill – 7.30 p.m.

21 JUNE: ‘Walk on the Grave Side’ – discovering the history in our church yard – boots may be required. Tea etc. in the vestry. Holy Trinity Church – 7.30 p.m.

12 JULY: ‘Wentworth Village Tour’ by Mr Young, Wentworth Historian. Wentworth Village Car Park, next to the Rockingham Arms – 7.00 p.m. prompt.
