--FAREWELL AND HELLO: Many residents will already be aware that, after twenty one years as landlord and landlady of ‘The Horse and Jockey’, Pat and Frank Kilburn have retired.  During their time as ‘mine hosts’ they had made the pub their own and they will be missed.

The new landlord and landlady are John and Sarah Mann, a young local couple, who have already begun to ‘take root’ in the pub.  Everyone in Thurgoland wishes them well and hopes that they we be as happy there as Pat and Frank were.

The Horse and Jockey is to be refurbished during the New Year and will be closed for a short period whilst the refurbishment takes place, but John and Sarah are looking forward to welcoming customers old and new when it re-opens.

Cheers!!!
