Listed below are details of what's going on at the Pubs and the Working
Mens club in our Parish.
Village Hall Bookings
Following the retirement of Pat and Frank Kilburn, bookings for the Village Hall can now be made by telephoning Margaret Denton on 0114 288 5037. This is a temporary arrangement and details of where bookings can be made in the future will be made available in due course.
The Bridge Inn, Thurgoland
Mike and Tracy took over the Bridge Inn, in November of 2003. They are
planning to have a childrens play area outside for summer along with the
already existing beer garden. Below are the details of whats on at the
Bridge Inn and when food is available.
Food is available:
Monday - Saturday 12:00pm -
2:00pm
Monday - Saturday 5:30pm -
8:30pm
Sunday 12:00pm -
5:00pm
Specials:
Monday - Thursday During serving time, any 2 main
meals for £10.00. excluding Bank Holidays.
Monday - Friday
Lunchtimes, 2 mains meals for £6.00, excluing Bank Holidays.
Tuesday evening is curry night, which you can eat in or take-away.
Thursday evening quiz night starting at 10:00 and costing £1.00.
The quiz is a general knowledge quiz, with the top prize being a Gallon
of Ale.
The Green Dragon, Thurgoland
The Green Dragon, was the Regional winner of
the Avery Taverns Caterer of the Year. Below are details of when you can
eat there and the evenings when events are occuring:
Food is available:
Monday - Saturday 11:30am - 1:30pm
Tuesday - Friday 6:00pm
- 8:00pm
Sunday 12:00pm
- 2:00pm
Fish and Chips are also available on:
Tuesday - Friday 4:30pm -
9:00pm
Saturday 11:00am - 1:30pm
Wednesday is quiz night starting a 9:45 pm and costing 50p. The quiz is
music and general knowledge and there are free sandwiches available.
Friday evening is Kareoke evening.
The Horse and Jockey, Thurgoland
Tucked away on Roper Lane, is the Horse and Jockey,
which is a real country pub. They have lots of events taking place during
the week, which include:
Karaoke on a Tuesday and Saturday evening.
On Friday evening they host a general knowledge quiz and on Wednesday
they are known to have a games evening.
The Monkey, Thurgoland
The Monkey has been a filming location for The Last
of The Summer Wine for over 6 years. This year again they are filming
there. They have a beer garden, childrens play area, two non smoking restuarants
and have just launched an American food bar complete with all the memrobelia.
