Parish Precept

posted 18 Feb 2017, 04:57 by Thurgoland Parish Council
The Parish Council resolved to set  a Parish Precept for the next financial year at 2% higher than the current year. The increase is to cover additional costs of insurance, the salary costs of the clerk, and a small increase in the cost of printing the community newsletter. It will also enable a contribution to be made towards the cost of road safety measures to slow traffic down in the centre of Thurgoland, if an acceptable scheme can be agreed with Barnsley MBC.
The impact of the 2% increased precept for the Parish will be that Council Tax for a Band D property will increase by 29 pence for the whole year 2017-18.
